Intern - Kathryn received her Bachelor’s degree in human services counseling from Old Dominion University and is currently in her final year of obtaining her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University. In addition, Kathryn has been trained in Advanced levels of Theophostic® Prayer Ministries* which she has found to be a very effective tool that brings Christ to the forefront of healing and leads to transformation in people’s lives. Kathryn is also a Certified Traumatologist and recently traveled with the Regent University Trauma Team to Nicaragua to work with populations ranging from children to the elderly addressing the crisis and trauma in their lives. Crisis and trauma is a part of our lives here also and Kathryn’s desire is to be able to come along side of people to help them in their present state of hurting and bring hope and healing. Kathryn has been married for twenty years and she and her husband have three teenage children.
Kathryn’s passion is working with people towards healing and growth that will enable them to become all that God has created them to be. Life can be messy and recovery, insight and encouragement are often needed to become healthy again. Kathryn has gained valuable life experience and counseling skills in the areas of divorce, eating disorders, addiction, mental illness, relationship issues, marital counseling, anger problems, parenting as well as crisis and trauma that include sexual abuse, grief and loss and post traumatic stress.
Counseling is a calling. It takes many years of education, training and clinical supervision, yet the difficulty in preparation has enabled her to experience the joy of working as a professional Christian counselor. Kathryn thanks you for giving her the privilege of walking with you through the difficulties in your life.
