Resident Counselor - Briana Asbach, M.A. is a resident counselor working toward her license in Professional Counseling at Resource Guidance Services, Inc. She graduated from Amridge University in 2007 with her masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has received training for the treatment of Eating Disorders and Self-Injury. She has worked with at-risk adolescents and young adults and their families since 2007. She also works with children who have experienced a loss, abuse, or other traumatic event and their families using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She believes in helping these children and their families gain a sense of control and empowerment that helps them look at their traumatic experience in a more positive way. Briana also works with women who have experienced relational struggles, trauma, and loss. Through the use of Family Systems Theory, she focuses on educating women on how relationship dynamics affect who we are as people in order to help women make choices as to the roles and types of relationships they want to be in. She also works with women who have spouses or partners with a sexual, relational, or pornography addiction. She runs a Women's Group for these women every Wednesday at the Chesterfield location. Her goal is to educate women on sexual addiction and provide an atmosphere where they can safely share the struggles they have and to be encouraged by others who understand and empathize with similar struggles.
