Licensed Therapist  - Katrina holds a Master of Social Work degree from California State University, San Bernardino and is now a LCSW. Trina works with couples, male and female adults of all ages, adolescents and children. She also occasionally facilitates groups.

Prior to obtaining her master’s degree, Trina’s primary focus was in raising her four children. She now also enjoys her eight grandchildren. Her life experiences have provided her with the ability to empathize with and understand many challenging situations. Because of this, coupled with her relationship with the Lord Jesus, she brings to her clients a strong sense of hope.

Katrina was counseling in California when she came out to attend the birth of her daughter’s first child in January 2000. While awaiting the birth, she had two prayer requests: 1) That the Lord would show her where to settle, now that her children were grown and gone, and 2) that she would learn how to be a counselor through whom God could bring genuine healing of deep emotional wounds. The quality Trina loves most about God is His desire, willingness and ability to truly transform lives. She connected with Christian Counseling Associates and knew she had found a home here. When she moved to Virginia, 5 months later, it was with a strong sense of calling to live here, to learn how to minister that healing, and to be able to facilitate it.

Since she has been in the Richmond area, she has received training in Elijah House principles, and in the Basic, Apprenticeship and Advanced Level I of Theophostic® Prayer Ministries*. She has found Theophostic®  prayer to be an extremely effective tool in fully releasing the emotional pain from sexual and other abuse, grief and loss issues being expressed in depression, bipolar, anxiety and panic disorders, eating disorders, anger problems, post traumatic stress syndrome, and addictions. The resolution of the emotional pain benefits individuals as well as marriages and whole family dynamics. Trina also enjoys providing strong support, insight and encouragement as individuals live out their changes, in all kinds of life transitions. Issues around loss and grief are one of her specialties, including working with adopted or foster children.
